Human Salmonella Isolates, 2009 No. 3, March

Summary
The number of isolates (n=171) showed an increase
in comparison with March 2008 (n = 140). Salmonella Infantis (24 in 2009, 16 in 2008) was the predominant
serotype this month. Uncommon New
Zealand serotypes identified this month included S. Arechavaleta (2
human isolates since 2002) and S. Bardo (2 human isolates since 2002).
