Summary

The number of isolates (n = 57) received this month was similar to the
numbers received in June 2008 (n = 56). Salmonella Typhimurium phage
type 1 (8 in 2009, 2 in 2008) remained the predominant serotype. Uncommon New Zealand serotypes identified this month
included S. Livingstone (9 human isolates since 2002), S.
Poona (14 human isolates since 2002) and S. Typhimurium
phage type 208 (2 human isolates since 2002).
