Human Salmonella Isolates, 2010 No. 6, June

Summary
The number of isolates (n=70) showed an increase in comparison with June 2009 (n = 57). Salmonella Typhimurium phage type 101 (8 in June 2010, 1 in June 2009) was the predominant serotype this month. Uncommon New Zealand serotypes identified this month included S. Typhimurium phage type 89. The S. Paratyphi B case in the Wellington region was linked to two aquarium isolates (see the April-June 2010 Non-Human Salmonella Isolates report here for more information).Note: Click on the document links below to open.
