Human Salmonella Isolates, 2012 No. 5, May

Summary
The number of isolates (n=97) showed an increase in comparison with May 2011 (n = 87). Salmonella enteritidis phage type 11 (previously known as 9a)( 4.6% in May 2011, 8.2% in May 2012) was the predominant serotype. Uncommon Salmonella serotypes confirmed this month included: S. Meleagridis (4 human isolates confirmed since 1988) and S. Mgulani (7 human isolates confirmed since 1988). Note: Click on the document links below to open. These documents are in PDF format.
