Human Salmonella Isolates, 2015 No. 11, November

Summary
The number of isolates (n=77) confirmed this month showed an increase in comparison to the number of isolates confirmed in November 2014 (n=68). Salmonella Typhimurium phage type 135 (2.9% in November 2014 vs 12.9% in November 2015) was the most common serotype confirmed this month. Salmonella Cleveland was confirmed for the first time in New Zealand this month; the cases had not travelled overseas recently.
