Summary

Salmonella isolation numbers are considerably less than in 2001.
S. Brandenberg isolates are
from Canterbury/South Canterbury/Otago and Southland. This has been the
pattern since 1996 when the first ovine abortion was recorded in the
Canterbury district. Human isolations have shown an increase in the
period following lambing and calving in these areas.
