Human Salmonella Isolates, 2002 No. 10, October

Wednesday 22nd March 2023

Summary

Salmonella isolation numbers are considerably less than in 2001.

S. Brandenberg isolates are from Canterbury/South Canterbury/Otago and Southland. This has been the pattern since 1996 when the first ovine abortion was recorded in the Canterbury district. Human isolations have shown an increase in the period following lambing and calving in these areas.
