Summary
Human isolates in January 2003 are less than in January 2002, 185 compared with 274. Of interest are the twelve confirmed cases of S. Typhimurium phage type 160 isolated from passengers on a cruise ship. A further six cases were confirmed in Australia after the ship left New Zealand waters
