Summary

Overall numbers of confirmed cases of Salmonellosis continue to be lower than in 2003. Salmonella Enteritidis phage type 9a is endemic in New Zealand and is usually the causative serotype/phage type for 4% of total human isolates. S. Enteritidis phage type 9a variant, differs by one phage reaction and will be reported as a separate phage type. There has been one non-human isolate during May from a dog.
