Human Salmonella isolates, 2017 No.6, June
The number of isolates (n=79) confirmed this month showed a slight increase in comparison to the number of isolates confirmed in June 2016 (n=69). Salmonella Typhimurium phage type 56 variant (12.7% in June 2015 vs 8.7% in June 2016). Uncommon serotypes confirmed this month included S. Give var. 15+ (8 human case since it was first confirmed in New Zealand in 2011) and S. Llandoff (2 human case since it was first confirmed in New Zealand in 2009).
