Human Salmonella isolates, 2019 No.05, May

The number of isolates (n=84) confirmed this month showed a decrease in comparison to the number of isolates confirmed in May 2017 (n=87). S. Enteritidis phage type 11 (2.2% in May 2018 vs 5.9% in May 2019) was the most common serotype confirmed this month. Uncommon serotype confirmed this month was S. Brancaster (8 human cases since it was first confirmed in New Zealand in 2006)
