Human Salmonella isolates, 2020 No.08, August
The number of isolates (n=53) confirmed this month showed an increase in comparison to the number of isolates confirmed in August 2019 (n=101). Salmonella Typhimurium ST568 (34% in August 2020) was the most common serotype confirmed this month.
Due to COVID-19 effect on overseas travel and habits of the community post lockdown, there has been a downturn in the number of Salmonella samples.
