Non-Human Salmonella Isolates, 2006 Jan-Mar

Summary
There were 343 isolates confirmed this quarter compared with 274 in 2005.The predominant serotype isolated from sheep was S.Hindmarsh. S.Typhimurium phage type 101 was the predominate isolate from the poultry environment.
Two isolates have been referred to the Pasteur Institute Paris for confirmation of serology Group R 40 : g : - and Group 54 : f,g : -
