Non-Human Salmonella Isolates, 2008 Oct-Dec

Summary
The Enteric Reference Laboratory confirmed 214 non-human isolates in the
October – December quarter in 2008 compared with 248 in 2007.
The 11 isolates of S. Typhimurium phage type 42 from food were isolated from four batches of flour. Isolates were from opened and unopened flour and there was a voluntary withdrawal of product by the manufacturer. Refer to Annual table 2008 for details of human isolates.
