Non-Human Salmonella Isolates, 2010 Jan-Mar

Summary
The Enteric Reference Laboratory confirmed 221 non-human Salmonella isolates in the first quarter of 2010 compared with 217 in the same period of 2009. Sixty nine of the avian S. Brandenburg were isolated from kiwis at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve as part of a surveillance programme. There was an increase in isolates of S. Typhimurium phage type 42 this quarter, 12 isolates in this quarter compared with 11 for the whole year in 2009.Note: Click on the document links below to open. These documents are in PDF format.
