Summary
As from January 2012, the non-human Salmonella serotypes has been published on a monthly basis, replacing the quarterly reports from previous years. The Enteric Reference Laboratory confirmed 54 non-human Salmonella isolates in June 2012.
The Enteric Reference Laboratory confirmed 193 non-human Salmonella isolates in the second quarter of 2012 compared with 305 during the same period in 2011.
There was a general increase in the number of S. Infantis isolates (31 in 2011 vs 46 in 2012) mostly due to the number of meat/bone meal isolates.
