Summary
The Enteric Reference Laboratory confirmed 38 non-human Salmonella isolates in December 2013 compared with 59 in December 2012.
There was decrease in the number of food isolates from 24 in 2012 to 0 in 2013. The large number of food isolates in December 2012 was linked to an outbreak involving the consumption of contaminated tahini.
