Non-Human Salmonella Isolates, 2014 No. 9, September

Summary
The Enteric Reference Laboratory confirmed 115 non-human Salmonella isolates in September 2014 compared with 160 September 2013.
There was an increase in the number of S. Brandenburg isolates (51 in 2014 versus 38 in 2013), with 25 bovine and 21 ovine isolates confirmed this month.
There was a decrease:
- In the number of Bovine isolates (75 in 2013 versus 63 in 2014), more specifically in S. Typhimurium phage type 9 and 101 bovine isolates
- In the number of Environmental isolates (13 in 2013 versus 2 in 2014)
- In the number of Food isolates (25 in June 2013 versus 6 in June 2014)
- In the number of S. Typhimurium phage type 56 variant isolates (18 in 2013 versus 8 in 2014), more specifically in the number of animal isolates confirmed this month
