Non-Human Salmonella Isolates, 2016 No. 1. January

Summary
The Enteric Reference Laboratory confirmed 33 non-human Salmonella isolates in January 2016 compared with 38 in January 2015.
There was a decrease in the number of avian isolates (8 in 2015 vs. 1 in 2016) and food isolates (12 in 2015 vs. 5 in 2016).
There was an increase in the number of bovine isolates (5 in 2015 vs. 10 in 2016), most specifically in S. Typhimurium phage type 1 isolates (0 in 2015 vs. 7 in 2016).
