Non-Human Salmonella Isolates, 2016 No. 8. August

The Enteric Reference Laboratory confirmed 181 non-human Salmonella isolates in August 2016 compared with 105 August 2015. 

There was an increase in the number of Bovine isolates (71 in July 2015 versus 116 in July 2016) especially in the number of S. Bovismorbificans isolates (17 in 2015 versus 36 in 2016) and S. Brandenburg isolates (11 in 2015 versus 21 in 2016). There was also an increase in the number of Ovine isolates (16 in July 2015 versus 25 in July 2016) and in the number of Meat and Bone meal isolates (2 in July 2015 versus 17 in July 2016).
