Non-Human Salmonella Isolates, 2022 No. 02, February
The Enteric Reference Laboratory confirmed 55 non-human Salmonella isolates in February 2022 compared with 24 February 2021.
There was an increase in the number of Poultry isolates (3 in 2021 versus 26 in 2022).
Extra testing associated with the MPI Emergency Control Scheme – Managing Salmonella Enteritidis in Commercial Chicken Flocks that came into effect 6th October 2021 has resulted in an increase in poultry isolate referrals.
