The purpose of the Annual Surveillance Summary is to produce a summary of the distribution of communicable diseases of public health importance in New Zealand.
The report focuses on the distribution of these diseases and longer-term incidence. It aims to disseminate information to those who need it to support prevention and control measures.
Following publication of the annual reports (see publication schedule), the notifiable disease datasets can be downloaded in a variety of formats (including Excel) from the NZPHO website.
