Summary
The tables below present national sexually transmitted infection (STI)
case counts from participating sexual health and family planning clinics
across New Zealand for the last five quarters. More detailed reports at
the DHB level are available by clicking on the name of the DHB region
in the list below. The reports are in PDF format. For further details on
methods used and limitations of the data, refer to the latest STIs in New Zealand: Annual Surveillance Report. All results and analyses are based on the data submitted prior to 11/12/2012. Any data submitted after this date are not included in this report due to time constraints. All results should be regarded as provisional. Cautionary note: The number of cases of STIs reported through the clinic-based surveillance system underestimates the true burden of disease in New Zealand because a substantial percentage of STIs are diagnosed by other health care providers, particularly primary health care practitioners.
